I want to thank you for 2016. It’s been a fabulous year for some, a sad year for others, and in the grand scheme of things more than a little bit chaotic. For me, among many things, it has been another year in writing. Since 2010 I’ve published 28 novels and novellas with two more to be published in the coming months. And in 2016 the foreign publication of my novels reached 30 countries, something I never would have imagined possible.
Through all of it you have been there with me. To support me, to encourage me, and to remind me of why I love to write. Years ago I had stories in my head and heart that I thought would stay with only me, playing out in my mind while I worked administration jobs that were a means to an end. I took a chance in 2010 to share my stories and was humbled to be thanked for doing so.
So thank you for allowing me to become a storyteller. Whatever 2017 brings, whether or not it brings the personal victories I wish for all of you, I will continue to try to be the kind of storyteller that offers the chance to live someone else’s life for a while. To endeavour to bring escapism, love, perspective, connection, understanding and above all hope to my stories.
For some of you it’s already New Year’s Day and for others it’s almost upon us. I wish you all a very Happy 2017 filled with friendship and family and peace.
For those of my readers who celebrate I’m wishing you a very merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy holiday season!
Thank you all for another wonderful year in writing. I genuinely have the best, most supportive readers ever and I feel very lucky to have you.
And since it’s Tuesday here’s a teaser from my upcoming new release EVERY LITTLE THING (Hart’s Boardwalk) out March 7th 2017!
“I’m surprised you came back. We all thought you’d left. Permanently.”
“Wishful thinking, Miss Hartwell?”
“I don’t care one way or the other, Tremaine.”
“Too busy with the new boyfriend?”
“You mean Rex?” Jess said.
Vaughn raised an eyebrow. “His name is Rex? As in T. rex?”
Cooper coughed in an effort to swallow his laughter and I shot him a dirty look before swinging it toward Vaughn. “Rex like the Hollywood actor Rex Harrison. And he’s not my boyfriend.”
“Yet.” Jess added. “He told her last night that he wants to be. He intends on being very persistent.”
“Did we switch personalities or something? Usually, I’m the one that doesn’t know when to shut up.”
“Oh, so you’re aware of that flaw,” the jibe came from Vaughn. Surprise, surprise.
“Oh, really? You want to go down that path? Because we’d be here all day listing your flaws.”
“Flaws? What flaws? I’m perfect.”
“Perfect asshole, you mean.”
He looked at Cooper and Jess. “All I heard was I have a perfect ass.”
